TGS Scholarship Fund

Tekmark Global Solutions, LLC is pleased to offer two (2) scholarships to bright and talented students to assist in furthering their education. Scholarships will be awarded to students who demonstrate ambition and drive, determination to set and reach goals, and show leadership potential. This scholarship is intended for individuals who demonstrate strong academic performance, and also demonstrate commitment to and involvement in volunteer community service. These scholarships are open to high school seniors that plan on attending Rutgers University or Rider University as incoming freshmen. Winners will be chosen by August 1, 2010 and will receive notification shortly thereafter.


Number of Awards:
Two (2) $1,500.00 scholarships will be awarded; one (1) of these prizes will be awarded to a Rider University student, and one (1) will be awarded to a Rutgers University student.

Qualifications:
  • Must be an incoming freshman in good academic standing at Rutgers University or Rider University.

  • Must intend to be a full time student in the upcoming semester.

  • Must be a US citizen/must be a permanent New Jersey resident

  • Must be working towards a bachelor’s degree in one of the following curricula:
    • Engineering/Engineering Technology

    • Computer Science/MIS

    • Telecommunications/Information Technology

  • The applicant must have had a high school GPA of 3.0 or better out of a possible 4.0. The applicant must also have scored a combined total of 1200 in Math and Critical Reading on their SAT’s.

Required Essay:
Essays should be limited to 500 words. Each essay will be judged on quality of writing, organization, originality, and evidence of critical thinking. Please choose one topic.
  • Describe how events in your life have inspired you to achieve success or overcome difficulty in the face of obstacles. Specifically, explain what has compelled you to pursue a career in your chosen field.

  • The relentless advance of IT and telecommunications systems has brought dramatic benefits to individuals, businesses and other organizations. How has information technology changed our work and our lives? As technology continues to develop, what are the advantages and disadvantages to information being literally at our fingertips?


How to Apply:
Submittal Package should include:

  • Application form (click to download) with attached essay.

  • Attached list of significant achievements, academic awards, volunteer or community work, extracurricular activities, etc.

  • Two letters of reference (letter should state the relationship to the application candidate)

  • Official copy of high school transcript

  • Copy of college acceptance letter
